Chapter 1

Adult lose how to see

The narrator draws a snake that swallowed an elephant.
Adults say _"_nice hat"

Growing up often means losing the ability to see a deeper meaning

Chapter 2

A different kind of prespective

prince ask pilot to draw a sheep

pilot draw a box instead and say the sheep is in the box

the prince is happy

What matters isn’t what’s shown, it is what you imagine and feel

Chapter 3

Communication is not straight forward

the pilot try to understand where the prince comes from

but the prince:

  1. doesn't answer directly

  2. jump between ideas

  3. focuses on what he finds important

Understanding someone requires patience and not forcing everything into logic

Chapter 4

Adult trust number not meaning

The pilot explains the Prince’s planet Asteroid B-612, but says adults would only believe it if you gave:

  • a number

  • a statistic

  • something “official”

Adult think something matters only if it can be measured.

Chapter 5

Small problems that grow out of control

The Prince talks about pulling out baobab sprouts every day.

If he doesn’t:

  • they grow huge

  • they destroy his tiny planet

Small problems are easy to ignore but if you don’t deal with them early, they take over everything.

Chapter 6

Quiet emotional coping

The Prince says he watched 44 sunsets in one day bcs he was sad.

On his tiny planet, he can just move his chair and watch another sunset.

Don't fix sadness, sit with it

Chapter 7

Love makes you vulnerable

the prince is afraid that the sheep might eat his flower

Attachment creates fear of a loss

Chapter 8

The Flower is imperfect but special

the flower is very beautiful but dramatic and difficult

the prince doesn't understand her feelings and take her words too literally

but the reality is the flower is bad at expressing feeling

Sometimes you have to look beyond words to understand it

Chapter 9

Running away

The Prince decides to leave his planet.

Before leaving:

  1. he cleans the volcanoes

  2. removes baobabs

  3. prepares everything carefully

Then he leaves even though the flower quietly shows she cares

People often leave or give up on relationships before truly understanding them

Chapter 10

The King

  • Claims he rules everything

  • doesnt have subjects

  • His power is meaningless without anu subjects

Some people chase authority, even when it has no real purpose

Chapter 11

The vain man

  • only cares about being admired

  • just wants praise

Living for validation makes your life empty and dependent on others

Chapter 12

The Drunkard

  • Drinks to forget he’s ashamed of drinking

  • its a loop

Escaping your problems often traps you deeper inside them.

Chapter 13

The Businessman

  • count stars and says he owns them

Owning things doesn’t make life meaningful, it just creates the illusion of purpose.

Chapter 14

The Lamplighter

  • Follows orders without questioning

  • Lights and extinguishes a lamp nonstop

if you never question why, you lose your freedom

Chapter 15

The Geographer

  • Records information about the world

  • Never explores it himself

Knowledge without real experience is empty

Chapter 16

Earth

the prince arives on earth and realizes that :

  1. its huge

  2. full off people

Being surrounded by many people doesn’t mean you feel connected

Chapter 17

The snake

THe prince met a snake who can send him back in one bite

the snake also says that he is more powerfull than a king

When everything is quiet, you start thinking about life and death

Chapter 18

Single flower on desert

the flower says :

  • human dont have roots -> lack of stability

  • get blown around -> people don't stay / commit

Many people drift in life without a direction

Chapter 19

The Prince climbs a mountain hoping to see people but instead he only hear his echo

The world often reflects what you give

Chapter 20

Garden of rose

the prince thought that his rose are special

the prince feels disapointed and betrayed

Something can look ordinary from the outside but still be unique because of your relationship with it

Chapter 21

The fox

The prince met the fox and ask the prince to be tamed

The fox explains:

  • you can’t rush relationships

  • you build them slowly (same time, same rituals)

The fox says "You become responsible, forever, for what you have tamed.”

“What is essential is invisible to the eye”

Chapter 22

The railway switchman

  • The switchman sends trains full of people back and forth

  • No one seems satisfied with where they are

Only children:

  • look out the window

  • actually enjoy the journey

People are always chasing the next thing, without knowing what they actually want.

Chapter 23

The salesman

  • A man sells pills that remove the need to drink water

  • Saves 53 minutes a week

The Prince says:

  • he’d rather use that time to walk slowly to a well

Saving time is meaningless if you don’t use that time to live.

Chapter 24

What matters isn’t visible

  • The pilot and Prince search for water in the desert

  • The journey itself becomes meaningful

The desert is beautiful because of the hidden well

This mirrors the fox’s lesson:

  • meaning isn’t obvious

  • it’s hidden beneath the surface

The value of things often comes from what you can’t see.

Chapter 25

The well

  • They finally find water

  • It tastes special—not because of the water itself

It’s meaningful because:

  • of the journey

  • the effort

  • the shared experience

Experiences become meaningful through the time and emotion you invest in them

Chapter 26

The prince's death

The prince meets the snake again and allow him self to be bitten

At this point, the prince realized from the conversation with the fox that

  • relationship means taking responsibility

  • his rose is unique because of the relationship

So he returns home

The Prince doesn’t leave because life is meaningless, he leaves because he finally understands what gives it meaning

Chapter 27

The pilot reflection

The pilot looks at the stars differently now

The stars become:

  • reminders of the Prince

  • something filled with meaning

People we love never fully disappear, they continue to exist in how we see the world.
